How often are you thinking of things you don’t want, as opposed to things you do want?
To change the tone of your internal monologue, start by noticing where your attention lies.
If your attention is focused on things you don't want, you’re ultimately bringing them closer to fruition. And once they do happen, you’re stuck thinking the same debilitating thoughts.
Even more, the process continues because you’re not leaving room for positive thoughts.
