"Thunder In The Sky" is a Ch'an Buddhist classic. The book continuously pushes the notion of knowing who you're dealing with; surmised by the quote "When you meet a swordsman, draw your sword: Do not recite poetry to one who is not a poet."
The art of overstanding your opponent is being able to recognize when your greatest opponent is yourself.
At that point, what is there to do but further educate yourself.
To further overstand yourself & the world around you, and to be prepared for the swordsman or the poet, here are my three book recommendations for the week:
- The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest
- The Art Of War by Sun Tzu
- Thank & Grow Rich by Pam Grout
Let me know if I should add anything to the list!
